When do we go for Multiple format logical file ( MFLF )?

Considering performance which one MFLF or multiple LFs is better/

A Company having more than one branch. Each Branch they will maintain a file with same formats. For ex,PMS have two branch 1)chennai and 2)bangalore.Each branch have same formats but they wil maintain two files. so now if u combine both in one LF-"ie multiformat logical file"...

Now we want details -All employees who work under PMS u can read the multiformat LF ---" READ PMSLF1"... where PMSLF1 is MultifmtLF name which contains both chennai and bangalore emp details...

Or we want branch wise -All employees who work under PMS-chennai then u can read from multiformat LF---"READ LFrec1" where LFrec1 is recfmt contains chennai emp details...

All employees who work under PMS-bangalore then u can read from multiformat LF---"READ LFrec2" where LFrec2 is recfmt contains bangalore emp details...
