The system sends some messages to the QSYSMSG message queue instead of QSYSOPR. It also sends certain messages to QSYSMSG, to QSYSOPR, or to both QSYSMSG and QSYSOPR.

If the QSYSMSG message queue exists, the system sends the following messages to QSYSMSG instead of QSYSOPR:

The system sends certain messages to QSYSMSG, to QSYSOPR, or to both QSYSMSG and QSYSOPR, depending on the system reference code (SRC) sent with the message and whether the SRC is being logged with critical message handling. These messages include the following.
System Value
QUPSDLYTIM *SYSCTL Uninterruptible power supply delay time
QUPSMSGQ *SYSCTL Uninterruptible power supply message queue

A battery backup unit provides a safety net for users who do not have an uninterruptible power supply or those with a failed uninterruptible power supply. The battery backup unit provides 30 seconds of run time. If ac power is not restored within 30 seconds, the system immediately goes into a controlled shutdown.
