datastructure - DATAAREA DATASTRUCTURE Empty DATAAREA DATASTRUCTURE

Post  maran Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:18 pm

The same Dataarea has been declared as a Dataarea DS in 2 RPG programs say PGMA & PGMB.

PGMA calls PGMB? Will this call successful? If not how to override this issue?

datastructure - DATAAREA DATASTRUCTURE Empty dataarea

Dataarea will be created for the paricular job and we cannot use that dataarea for the another job and if we declared a dataarea in a program means dataarea will be in locked for that pgm, so we cannot use that for the other programs

You are correct that if we declare a dataarea using data structure, there is locked placed on the dataarea till the end of the program ( SETON LR). SO this data area can not be used in other program as a data area data structure.

To avoid this issue before call to PGMB we need to unlock dataarea.
