1) What are the differences between them?

2) When do we go for LF and when do we go for OPNQRYF?

Ques1: differences between LF & OPNQRYF.

LF -> Permanent object whereas OPNQRYF is temporary. LF have database records like date of creation no. of records etc., whereas OPNQRYF doesn't have.

Q2: When do we go for LF and when do we go for OPNQRYF
If the file is being used frequently and large amount of data (more than 1 lakh) then better to go for LF. If the file not used frequently and not having much more records then we go for OPNQRYF. Because to create the temp. access path OPNQRYF take much more time when compared to LF.
