DFT keyword is not working

I have a PF which has a City code fileld defined as CTYCDE 2 A DFT('TX')

When a insert a record thru DBU without entering value for CTYCDE, the default value for the field is not populated.

Please advice me.

First do INZPFM.
Later update the fields which u required.
